Kangana Ranaut (born 20 March 1987 in Bhambla, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, India) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood movies.
Young Kangana always had a love for acting. She moved to Mumbai with a big dream but had to struggle initially. A chance meeting with director Anurag Basu landed her in Mahesh Bhatt’s 2006 film Gangster. It was a big hit, followed by a string of other good performances in Who Lamhe (2006), Life in a Metro (2006) and Shakalaka Boom Boom (2007). With these performances, Kangana certainly has cemented her place in Bollywood.
